54 Below Performing Debut, “54 Survives High School”

August was busy! I got to cross off one of my bucket-list performing spots this summer by singing in “54 Survives High School!” This cabaret, produced by Kaden Potak and Joshua Turchin, focused on iconic musical theatre songs set in high school. I got to sing an all-time favorite, “Sexy,” sung by Karen in Mean Girls the Musical! This was the first time I performed a solo in a long time, and performing at such an iconic venue was nerve-wracking! The insanely talented cast helped ease my nerves and we had such a fun time singing songs from High School Musical, Spring Awakening, Be More Chill, and more.

My parents flew to NYC to see the show, and I got to share the special evening with some of my best friends. It was such a great beginning to a future of cabaret performances, and I have even more exciting 54 Below news coming soon!

A short clip from the show is on my Instagram @josie.axelson, and the incredible pictures below are from Angela of York and Olivia Kuan-Romano!
